The Sustainable Racing Team (SRT) at Damascus College is currently on their remarkable journey from Broken Hill to Ballarat (B2B). Led by their dedicated program coordinator, Mr. Alan Strange, the team is showcasing the power of teamwork, innovation, and dedication as they tackle this challenging adventure.
Comprising passionate students from Damascus College, the SRT is on a mission to push the boundaries of sustainable transportation and make a difference along the way. Each member of the team has taken on various roles to ensure the success of the journey. From crew members responsible for logistics and support to navigators guiding the way, communication experts keeping everyone connected, and riders pushing the pedals, every role is essential.
The B2B journey exemplifies the SRT's commitment to sustainability and excellence, as well as their dedication to supporting cancer research. This cause holds a special significance for the team, as they honor the memory of past student Connor, who bravely battled cancer. Connor's legacy inspires the team to push their limits and make a difference in the fight against this disease. As they pedal their way from Broken Hill to Ballarat, the team is not only raising crucial awareness but also funds for cancer research, supporting the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute in their mission to find a cure.
Starting from Broken Hill, the team kicked off their journey with a flurry of excitement, fueled by a spirited radio interview with ABC Broken Hill. Despite the challenges of the journey, including navigating through diverse terrain and weather conditions, the team's resilience, camaraderie, and unwavering determination have shone through every step of the way. Their dedication to the cause and to each other is truly inspiring.
As we eagerly anticipate the next leg of their journey, let's continue to rally behind the Sustainable Racing Team (SRT) and show our support for their incredible efforts. Together, we can make a difference, one pedal at a time.
