The St. Martin’s Resource Centre at Damascus College is a central hub for learning in the College, providing a welcoming and stimulating environment for all.

The St. Martin’s Resource Centre fosters the holistic development of the individual, where the functions of Library, Careers, Counselling, Collaborative Learning and ICT work cohesively to ensure students are provided the opportunity to continue to acquire and foster key academic and social and emotional skills.

The SMRC is staffed by a team of skilled and experienced professionals who work closely with students and their teachers.

All members of the Library team provide support for all areas of the curriculum and work in close collaboration with teachers to ensure that every student develops the skills to become an independent learner. Members of the Library team work closely with teachers to integrate the explicit teaching of information and digital literacy skills.

A range of resources, both print and digital, is readily available to students to meet both curriculum and recreational needs. Access is provided through the St. Martins Resource Centre Webpage and the online catalogue where students may also check their loans and make reservations.

A key aim of the Resource Centre is to develop and foster a love of literature and learning. This is achieved through the continuing development of high quality fiction collections, the provision of an eBook collection, audio books, book club and a dedicated Reading Program in English classes.

The ICT team provide helpful and friendly support in addressing technology concerns for students and staff. The College Counsellors and Psychologists within this space provide confidential support to Damascus students, and can be accessed via dcwellbeing@damascus.vic.edu.au. Our caring Careers team, also located within the SMRC, are available to support students and families with their career and pathway needs during breaks or by appointment, and can be contacted on careers@damascus.vic.edu.au.
