Learning Support Officer - General

We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic Learning Support Officers to fill a number of positions within our Student Growth and Engagement (SGE) Team commencing in January 2025. Learning Support Officers work closely with other members of the SGE team, Teacher Advisors and classroom teachers in implementing individualised targeted programs to support students both within, and outside of the classroom.

Learning Support Officers (General) support student learning under the direction and supervision of the teacher. This may be with individuals or small groups of students and includes support in educational and development programs both within and outside of the classroom.

Applicants are asked to demonstrate their strengths and experience, through the inclusion of a Key Selection Criteria Statement addressing the following selection criteria:

  • Prior experience in an education setting working with young people.
  • Ability to support the access and delivery of progressive and innovative education to young people with extensive learning needs
  • Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with students, liaise with parents, teachers, and external professionals
  • Strong Information Communication Technology skills
  • Qualifications in Education Support would be well regarded

Preferred applicants must have the right to work in Australia, have a valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check.

Please note: Applicants for this position must be prepared to participate in a pre-employment medical examination, arranged by the College prior to commencement.
